Mangaluru: St Francis Xavier parish, Bejai celebrates Monthi Fest with strict MOH protocol

Mangaluru, 09 Sept 2020: The feast of the Nativity of Blessed Virgin Mary or Monthi Fest was celebrated with active involvement and participation of St Francis Xavier parish, Bejai, here on Tuesday September 8.

 

The parish Association of Infant Mary took initiative to organize 9-day novena and festal arrangements. Keeping in mind the social distance the faithful were accommodated in the parish hall and the church.

 

The ICYM members joined hands in sanitizing the people along with thermal screening.

 

 

’Crusades’ a lay association of Bejai parishioners decorated the altar and the grotto. They also distributed 100 food kits to the poor irrespective of caste and creed.

 

St Vincent de Paul Society too reached out the deserving families.

 

Fr Pramod Crasta, assistant parish priest conducted Novena prayers.

 

Fr Robert D’Souza, principal of Lourdes Central School, Bejai blessed the new paddy-sheaves.

 

Fr J B Saldanha, parish priest presided the Eucharistic celebration.
