St Antony Chapel Kerekatte Celebrates Patron`’s Feast

Kundapur, 14 June 2011:  The patron’’s feast of St Antony’’s chapel at Kerekatte near here was celebrated on Monday June 13 morning.

 

The devout Catholics in the neighbourhood of Kerekatte celebrate the feast of St Antony’’s relic at the chapel on February 15 and patron’’s feast on June 13 every year. The priest from Basroor church meets the spiritual needs of community at the chapel.

 

On this occasion Bishop appointed to Fr. Xavier Pinto as a New Director of St. Antonys Shrine Kerekatte.

 

 

Bishop Aloysius Paul D’’Souza of Mangalore offered the solemn mass along with Basroor parish priest Fr Xavier Pinto, Kundapur parish priest Fr Alban D’’Souza and other 12 priests from different parishes of Mangalore diocese. The chapel choir rendered a melodious song in honour of miraculous St Antony.

 

Thousands of people irrespective of faith or religion thronged the St Antony’’s statue venue and paid their respects to the saint by offering flowers and lighting candles.Prior to the feast mass, Bishop distributed candles to the sponsors of the annual feast.
