Udupi, 10 Dec: The Kannada Medium Primary and High School celebrated their Annual School Day along with Old Students Association and entertained the audience with their cultural dance and musical performance on 5th November 2019.
The magical grand cultural evening began with wonderful dance performances by little children of Primary students followed by a beautiful presentation of Christmas Tableau high school students.
A brief stage program began with a prayer song. All the honorary guests of the day were invited on the dais namely Mr. Gurudat Somayaji; Principal, Surya Chaitanya Global Academy School, Kutyar, Rev. Fr. Ferdinand Gonsalves (Correspondence, St. John’s Educational Institutions), Mr. Ashwin Rodgriques (HM High School) Ms. Irine D’Souza (H M Primary), Ms. Priya D’Sa (Principal, PU College), Sr. Julian Lasrado (HM English Medium), Mr. Mark Vas (VP Parish Council), Ms. Seema D’Souza (Secretary 18 Commissions), Ms. Clara Mendonsa (Secretary, Parish Council). Ms. Asha Achari (PTA-High School), Mr. Stephen Castelino, PTA – Primary), Ms. Sylvia Castelino (President, OSA), Miss. Ashmita Mendonsa (Secretary OTA), Miss. Pratiksha Devadiga (CPL) and Miss. Marina Crasta.
Mr. Domian Noronha (Teacher Physical Education) welcomed the audience and the guests were felicitated with floral bouquets. The annual school reports were presented by Ms. Irine D’Souza for Primary School (Kannada) and Mr. Ashwin Rodrigues for (High School Kannada) followed by Annual report of Old Students Association by Ms. Sylvia Castelino.
The prize distribution ceremony was held for all the students for those who excelled in academic and sports events. The prizes were distributed by honorary guests on dais. On this occasion two prominent personalities of St. John’s Academy were felicitated by guests on dais. Mr. Mohandas R. Shetty (Former HM, St. John’s Kannada Medium) for his dedicated 31 years as HM and Mr. Domina Noronha (Physical Trainer, St. John’s (on selection to the National level competition in state level swimming and other sports competition.)
As part of the entertainment the high school students presented a very famous short play “Chore Charan Das”. The very meaningful and hilarious play was directed by Bhivan, Manipal (Ninasam Graduate) and beautifully narrated by Raju Manipal. 18 students of Kannada Medium School participated and acted wonderfully in the drama and mesmerised the audience.
After the stage program, a hilarious tulu drama titled: “Err Thankuver” was staged by Old students.
