Doha/Qatar, 27 Sep: Indian Community Benevolent Forum (ICBF), Indian Sports Center (ISC) and the Indian Business & Professionals Council (IBPC), the apex bodies under the patronage of Embassy of India, Qatar inaugurated their joint premises the Integrated Indian Community Centre (IICC) at Al Thumama, here on Friday, September 20.
The new premises was inaugurated by P Kumaran, the Ambassador of India to Qatar who was the chief guest of the event.
Rajesh Kamble, counselor at the Embassy of India Qatar was the guest of honor and is also the coordinating officer of IICC.
S R H Fahmi, the first secretary at the Embassy of India and coordinating officer, ICBF, K S Dhiman, second secretary and Sona Soman, the third secretary at the Embassy of India also attended the inauguration ceremony.
The presidents of the three apex bodies and the respective Managing Committee members welcomed the guests and the invited community members to the center.
The ribbon cutting of the Premises was formally done by P Kumaran and the official function was held at the M Kanjani Hall after officially inaugurating the Hall.
The Presidents of the three Apex bodies welcomed Ambassador Mr. P. Kumaran, counselor Rajesh Kamble and Harish Kanjani to the dais.
P N Baburajan, ICBF president, delivered the welcome address wherein he detailed about the purpose of the premises and the journey of making the dream project come true. He thanked the Ambassador of India P Kumaran for his continuous support in making this project successful. Baburajan thanked the community members who willingly supported the cause and for making it possible for a new premise for the three apex bodies.
Azim Abbas, IBPC president, spoke about the conceptualization and implementation of the whole process and thanked the sponsors. He thanked Harish Kanjani who sponsored the M Kanjani hall in remembrance of his father late M Kanjani, who is also the founder president of the ICBF. Abbas reminded the need for support from the community members and took the audience on a virtual tour of the premises. He too thanked the Ambassador Kumaran and the Indian Embassy for their continuous support. He also thanked the audience for their presence.
Nilangshu Dey, president Indian Sports Center, in his address emphasized on the need for the community center connecting the three apex bodies. He briefed the audience on the facilities available and requested the members to make use of it and spread the message among the community members.
During his address, Kumaran appreciated the three apex bodies for their efforts in making the idea of having a premise in to reality. He recommended that the activities at the IICC must reach out to more members in the community. He too appreciated all the community leaders, sponsors and other entities who lend a supporting hand to the three apex bodies.
The ceremony was well-attended with more than 200 people including the members of the apex bodies, well-wishers; community leaders attended the Inaugural function, making the event a grand success.
