Kuwait, 17 Sep 2019: The members of Kanajar Welfare Association Kuwait (KWAK) along with their family and friends met at the premises of Badur travels basement hall, Salmiya, Kuwait on Friday 13th September afternoon to celebrate Monthi Festh.
Master of ceremony Melwin Mascarenhas made a beginning to the celebration with an introductory speech followed by procession from little children with flowers. The celebration of the day continued with thanksgiving prayer & Novena led by Mrs. Leena Fernandez along with traditional flower offerings by little children.
Mother Mary birthday cake cut done by children gave them complete enjoyment and excitement of feast. Blessed corn Novem distributed in the milk to all.
President of KWAK Charlotte Dsouza welcomed all the gathering, in her speech she expressed her gratitude to each and every one who supported to make festive event successful. Sponsors and contributors honored with flowers.
Soon after the President’s welcome speech, Committee members served mother Mary birthday cake along with the refreshments.
As a part of entertainment Rachel and Lauren performed dance. Konkani song sung by Mr. Waletr Fernandez. Rib tickling Comedy skit performed by famous drama artists from Kuwait Mr. Lional Mascarenhas, Mr. Sathish Saldanha along with their team.
Host Melwyn Mascarenas conducted various games for children. Spot Prizes given to kids and adults. Housie housie game conducted by host Melwyn & Rishown.
As per our old tradition, Sugar Cane (Kobu) distributed to all Children along with gift. Secretary Renita Flavy proposed the vote of thanks. Grace before the meal was recited by all kids.
Keeping up the tradition of the harvest festival authentic Mangalorean vegetarian lunch prepared by KWAK members and their family served. While seated on the floor all gathered members and guest enjoyed the varieties of homemade vegetables along with mouthwatering vorn & sweets eaten on the Shirathi (Banana Leaf).
The entire proceeding of the feast day celebration was hosted by Melwin Mascarenhas.
