Udupi, 03 June 2011: National award winner Movie Director G. Murthy is making the preparation for the shooting of two movies namely “Kathale Dweepa” and “Ankura” after the rainy season in Udupi and the surrounding places. He has already filmed two movies “Karunadu” and “Shankara Punyakoti” in Udupi. Karunadu has received two state awards and Shankara Punyakoti has received third place in the National awards. Inspired by this I intend to shoot two more movies in this location, said Murthy in the press conference.
Shankara Punyakoti which was screened in Indian Panorama, Goa International Film Festival in the competition among the 74 movies and emerged into third place. This movie was released in Bangalore, and will be released in Udupi also soon, he said. This movie is produced by Amaranatha Hegde and Shrinivasa Sooda, lyrics is by Gururaja Marpalli, written by Bannanje Govindacharya, Music by Praveen Godkindi and Photography by P.K. Das.
Multilanguage actors Sharath Kumar, Vinaya Prasad, Ramesh Bhat are in the main characters and in the remaining roles; Master Rakshan from Udupi, H. Raviraj, Shripada, Poornima Nayak and others have acted. The movie is filmed in Brahmavara, Barkur, Nilavara, Kolkebail and Suralu of Udupi District.
The story of the difficulties of a Temple Priest looking after the cows is filmed in this movie and the picture was mostly shot in Nilavara Cattle shed of Pejavar Mutt, he said. Kathale Dweepa and Ankura, these two movies are of rural stories, so we have decided to shoot them in Udupi, The story is ready, the selection of actors, actresses and technicians is in the process, he said.
