Mangaluru: Konkani Natak Sabha launches Theater Festival; to mark platinum jubilee

Mangaluru, Oct 8: As part of its Platinum Jubilee Celebration, Konkani Natak Sabha (KNS) will be organizing Drama Festival from 6th October onwards at Don Bosco Hall, Mangaluru.

 

The drama Festival was inaugurated at Don Bosco Hall, here on October 6.

 

The Festival was inaugurated by Fr Victor Vijay Lobo, Procurator of Mangaluru diocese along with president of Mandd Sobhan Louis J Pinto.

 

 

KNS vice president Sunil Menezes, general secretary Judith D’Souza, joint secretary Jossy Theodore, treasurer Jerry Concessao were present.

 

Fr Victor Vijay Lobo who applauded the service done by Konkani Natak Sabha to the culture and heritage of Konkani in past 75 years and appreciated the celebration by staging 12 dramas and giving opportunity to the hundreds of Drama actors to a performance.

 

Louis J Pinto congratulated the Natak Sabha on behalf of Mandd Sobhann and recalled the achievement of Konkani Natak Sabha for giving thousands of artistes in the Konkani World. The work of Konkani should be really satisfactory should be appreciated, he said.

 

In the Drama Festival, dramas will be staged on every Saturday and Sunday at 6.00pm and 7.30pm till October 21, in all 12 shows.

 

The 1st show staged was MORICHICA presented by Kalakul, Konkani’s only repertory promoted by Mandd Sobhann and the second show staged was ALISHA by Tamaso Kateel on October 6. The details of other shows are given below:
