Udupi, 10 May 2011: A truck today lost control on Malpe to Ashirvad road in front of Vignesh Electricls that resulted in the tuck crashing on a stationery van that was parked in front of a shop and fell into the sewage pit losing its front tyre and suspension pieces of parts of the vehicle were seen around the area.
Santhekatte had become a busy place with many enterprises having their presence at the junction that connects east and west and north and south. The density of traffic here is so high that people cannot even cross the roads from either side as there are habitants living on east and west side of the highway.
During school days many children here need to wait for long until they find an opportunity to cross the busy road while going to school, especially around 9 am during which time there is peak vehicular traffic of the road and it is considered very risky for anyone to venture to cross the road. In the evening the situation is still worse due to the dusk and darkness that blankets the roads making crossing of the road more dangerous and risky. Will the concerned authorities look into the matter and prevent unwanted accidents which may cost the lives of people?
