Mangaluru: Gurpur, Cordel parishes bag 1st place in KNS inter-parish singing competition

Mangaluru, 03 Aug 2018: Konkani Natak Sabha (KNS) Mangaluru organized their 55th Inter Parish Singing Competition for children of different parishes of Mangalore diocese at Don Bosco Hall, here on Sunday July 29.
The competition was inaugurated by Fr Joel Lobo, Editor of Sevak - Konkani monthly.
KNS vice president Sunil Menezes, Secretary Judy D’Souza, Assistant Secretary Jossy Theodore and convenor Prem Lobo among others were present.
The competition was held in two parts - out of city parishes and city parishes in the categories of 5-10 years and 10-15 years.
Fifty-five competitors from nine parishes took part in the out of city parishes for the solo, duet and mixed group. Gurupur parish bagged the First place, Puttur parish won the Second and Elyarpadav and Pezar parishes shared the Third.
Among the city parishes, 88 competitors from twelve parishes took part in solo, duet and mixed group. Cordel parish bagged the First place, Bondel parish Second and Bejai parish Third place.
Alwyn Noronha, Ivan Sequeira and Sylvia Fernandes were the judges. One behalf of President, Fr Joel Lobo, Editor of Sevak monthly welcomed the gathering. Raymond D’Cunha and Jossy Theodore compered. Convenor Prem Lobo introduced the judges and Vice President announced the results. General Secretary Judi D’Souza proposed vote of thanks.
