Moodubelle: Newly built stage inaugurated at Edmeru School

Moodubelle, 09 May 2011: The newly built stage in the memory of Edmeru Takdabailu late Kamala Babu Shetty, late Jalaja Babu Shetty, late Sindhu Vasu Shetty and late Rati Deju Shetty in the premises of Shri Mahabhaleshwara Higher Primary School at Edmeru was inaugurated on Saturday, May 7, 2011 at 10 am by Devdas Hebbar , President of the Udupi Taluk Panchayat.  The stage was sponsored by Vishwanath Shetty of Pune and Ratnakara Shetty, retired Vijaya Bank officer.

 

The function was presided over by K. Dinakara Shetty, President of Teachers’ Coperative Bank, Udupi. Fr. Joswey Fernandes, parish priest of St. Lawrence Church, Moodubelle, in his Ashirvachana said that stage plays an important role especially in the rural areas in enabling the school children to manifest their acting and other talents. Devdas Hebbar in his address said that he was quite happy that the school is being provided with a stage which can be used for various reasons.

 

 

During the function, those students of 7th standard who had secured  first three ranks were awarded cash prizes sponsored by Ramananda Shetty. The uniform to the students of the school and the honorarium to the honorary teachers  was sponsored by  Shubhakara Shety in memory of  his parents  Edmeru Badagumane late Bommayya Shetty and late Bhavani Shetty. Note-books were sponsored by Subhashchandra Hegde of Pune and Ties and Belts were donated by Govinda Jogi in memory of his father late Krishna Jogi.

 

The guests of honour present at the function included: Shubhakara Shetty, Udaya Shetty, Mohandas Shetty, Mrs. Sundari Shetty, Mrs. Sushila, Vijaya Shetty, Sitharama Shetty and others.

 

The programme was compeered by  Vignesh and Sachin, MSW Students of St. Mary’s College, Shirva.  N. Vivekananda Shetty, headmaster of the school welcomed the guests and  Bhaskar Shetty proposed the vote of thanks.
