Manama, 07 Nov 2017: “All day work and no play makes Jack a dull boy”. Most of us know this proverb. It means that if a person does not take time off from work he will be bored and tired. Though not all, atleast some of us are going through this phase. Hence little outdoor sports activities will help us to overcome this. The Bellevision Bahrain members had the opportunity to be bit sporty on the occasion of annual sports day which was held on Friday 3rd November at the grounds of Baba City, Riffa from 09.30am.
Hilda D’sa took the charge of the registration desk. After having the breakfast all members gathered on the ground. Participants were all divided into four teams. “Red, Blue, Green and Yellow. Opening prayer was lead by Nirmala Fernandes. President Joel D’sa welcomed the gathering and conducted the Oath taking ceremony. Under the guidance of Shannel with her soft bollywood steps all participants engaged in the warm up session. Sports Secretary Naveen Mendonca and the event coordinator Steevan Lobo conducted the games.
Children between the age group of 3-15 years had separate games and the individual winners were presented with medals. All the adults played in teams each one striving their best to add points to their respective team. The games played were: picking up the ball, musical chair with the balls, dog and the bone, ball throw, tyre relay and football throw. The main attraction was lagori game which was enjoyed by all teams.
Team Yellow scored the highest points followed by team Blue. The winning team Yellow was presented with Rolling Shield.
Tasty lunch with juicy watermelon was served in the afternoon along with Naveen’s home baked carrot cake. All children were presented with giveaways that were arranged by Naveen and Judy Mendonca. Secretary Veera Martis proposed the vote of thanks.
