Udupi, 11 Oct 2017: The seven days long NSS Camp of St. Lawrence PU College students was inaugurated by Vinay Kumar Sorake, MLA of Kaup Constituency at Catholic Higher Primary School, Pamboor on Wednesday, 11 October 2017 at 3.30 pm by lighting the lamp.
In his inaugural speech Vinay Kumar Sorake stressed upon the need to have a camp for the students which would help them in building their future life. He further said that while class-room teaching provided the students with certain amount of knowledge, the NSS camp would provided them practical lessons of life. Vinay Kumar Sorake said that the NSS volunteers should take advantage of various lectures by resource person on various topics such as How to face stress and pressure, Knowledge of law, NSS and Personality development, Role of students in National Integration and Skills of life, that are being organized during the camp. He wished well to the camp.
Other dignitaries on the dais including Fr. Paul Rego-Parish priest of Holy Cross Church, Pamboor, Mrs. Ranjani Hegde-President of Belle Grama Panchayat, Wilson Rodrigues-memebr of Udupi Zilla Panchayat, Mrs. Sujata Suvarna-member of Udupi Taluk Panchayat, Prakash Noronha-Vice President of Pamboor Parish Pastoral Council, Herald D’Mello-Headmaster of Catholic Higher Primary School, Pamboor and Mrs. Ida Gibba D’Souza-former member of Udupi Zilla Panchayat who presided over the inaugural function highlighted the importance of the NSS camp and wished well to the seven days long camp. Other dignitaries on the dais included Naveen Correa-Principal of St. lawrence PU College, Moodubelle, Dilip Kumar-NSS Programme Office and Nitin naik-Camp leader.
Naveen Correa welcomed the guests, Dilip Kumar proposed the vote of thanks and Miss Shruthi R compeered the programme.
