Lancy’s Musical Nite to captivate Dubai audience on May 6

Dubai, 21 April 2011: A season of Musical ’Jugalbandi’ will enthral the audience of Dubai on May 6, 2011 at Shaikh Rashid Auditorium where two young and energetic singers accompanied by a galaxy of singers and musicians will mesmerize the Konkani enthusiasts. These two talented singers are Lancy Noronha, who has been performing since 27 years and Joseph Mathias, another live wire singer who has recently joined the professional arena. Their ‘Jugalbandi’ will take music to a new height promising a great show.

 

These two eminent singers will be joined by experienced singers from the Konkani world such as Prem Kumar, who has been an inseparable member the troupe of Wilfy Rebimbus, ‘United Youngsters’  for the past 50 years; Dony and Asha Corea, the most blessed singer/actor couple who have already captivated the imagination of the Konkani world; Mario Rego, Reshma Coutinho, Jerina Lewis, Yash Pinto, Vinod and Vincent Rodrigues and  some of the well known faces in the Dubai Musical and Church Choir circuit. Lancy will be accompanied by his wife, Shylan who is also the producer of the programme and Lanita, their daughter.

 

 

The troupe also includes the rising comedians of a new era: Jerry and  Duje, who through their variety and qualitative comedy have been entertaining the masses from the north to the south of India. They will be accompanied by Santosh Fernandes.

 

Besides Jerry and Duje, the most scintillating addition in the troupe is Kenny the undisputed ‘King of Comedy’ who through his wit, antics and well written lyrics has entertained the music lovers in India as well as in the Middle East.

 

Ramiro, who has been providing music for the last 23 years and has the credit of directing six music albums will be providing music for the Lancy Musical Nite. The topmost pop band, ‘New Generation’ in Goa that has performed  in more than 60 Konkani albums under different music directors and which had also provided music to many concerts held in the U.A. E. since 2005, will keep the audience in full attention with its scintillating performance.

 

 

The entire musical extravaganza will be con-ducted by Uttam Menezes, a versatile artiste and compeer who is already well known in the entertainment industry through his wit, mastery over many languages and his excellent rapport with the people of varied tastes and ages.

 

Lancy Noronha  is a sensational singer who has 27 years of singing career behind him. He was a member of ’Brother’s Beat Group’  and had participated in many musical programmes in different places in South Kanara and Bangalore. He has also won a number of prizes in different competitions. He has provided music under the banner of  ’Shylan Beat Group’ to programmes held by different associations in Dubai. Besides Lancy has composed many hymns which have been captured in the form of devotional CDs.

 

Although new on the professional music horizon, Joseph Mathias who is a businessman  had flair for singing from an early age. Through his active participation in Kuppepadav and later Bendur Parish Choir, he has developed taste for offbeat music alongside devotional singing. This prompted him take part in various singing competitions held by Konkani Natak Sabha and Kala Sampath in Mangalore.

 

 

After proceeding to Dubai, his pre-occupation in business kept Joseph Mathias away from Music for some time. However, his love for music and singing and his close association with St Mary’s Church, Dubai,  Konkani Choir and his rapport with Konkani associations within the U.A.E. revitalized the singing talent in him.

 

One of the added attractions of Lancy’s Musical Nite on May 6, 2011 will be the scintillating dance performance by “The Ocean Kids”.

 

The Lancy’s Musical Nite is a tribute to one of the renowned singer in Konkani for more than two decades- late Ivan Noronha from Bellore, Bantwal.
