Dubai: Joy D’Souza re-elected as President of Lourdes Kanajar

Dubai, 10 February 2010: Lourdes Kanajar Association of Emirates held its 9th annual general body meeting cum picnic on 29th January 2010 at Mushrif Park Dubai. Over 40 families attended the program which was filled with fun & frolic. Adults and kids alike took part in the group games that were ably conducted by Wilfred/Erina Mendonca & group. The highlights of the day being the relay race, bursting balloons, tug of war, general knowledge quiz, chocolate game, housie housie, delicious barbeque lunch prepared by Canara Restaurent besides an emotional farewell to one of LKAEs founder members Baptist Saldanha (JB) & his family.

LKAE’s mission is to improve the livelihood of less fortunate children by helping them financially and kindle their hope for a bright future. Currently, LKAE has sponsored fourteen children who are pursuing studies in Engineering, B.Sc Nursing, Gen. Nursing, and bachelor degree programs.

Elections were held for the posts of President, Vice- President, General Secretary, Treasurer and Cultural/ Sports co-ordinator. The new committee has been formed to carry on with the good work by previous committees. Soon after the nomination round, each nominee was asked to express his/her opinion about their suggested portfolios and these are the members who made it to the core group of LKAE 2010.
