Nottingham / UK, 25 Apr 2017: The members of Mangalorean United Konkani Association (MUKA) came together for Biennial General Body Meeting on Sunday, April 16 after the Easter celebrations at Bramcote Memorial Hall, Nottingham.
Fr Charles Menezes led the prayer invoking God’s Blessings on the gathering. Vincent D’Souza, the outgoing president welcomed all the members and expressed gratitude to all the office bearers and members towards their support in his tenure. Secretary Pius Rasquinha read out the report and Treasurer Naveen Lobo presented the accounts for the year 2015-17. Both Biennial report and accounts were approved by the members present.
John Fernandes conducted the election of the new Committee for the year 2017-19. Pius Rasquinha has been elected as President unanimously.

Pius Rasquinha thanked outgoing president Vincent D’Souza, leading the association successfully. He asked support from the new committee and members and promised he will strive to bring the community together for betterment and promoting Konkani.
A discussion was held with regards to organizing the programmes for the current year and it was decided to hold annual summer day out event on Saturday, July 8, 2017.
The meeting was concluded with a hymn.
