Moodubelle, 01 April 2011: MSW department of St. Mary’s College, Shirva organized one day Summer Camp for the students of Shri Mahabhaleshwara Higher Primary School at Edmeru on Thursday, 31 March 2011. The inaugural function was presided over by Bhaskar Shetty, the senior retired teacher from the school. Devdas Hebbar, president of the udupi taluk Panchayat inaugurated the Summer Camp as well as five computers donated to the school by Infosys. The sound system for the school donated by PWD Contractor, Ramesh Kotian was inaugurated by Raphael Aranha, headmaster of the Church Aided Higher Primary School, Moodubelle.
The inauguration function was attended by Dr. J.C. Miranda, Principal of St. Mary’s College, Shirva, Mrs. Savita Fernandes, lecturer in St. Mary’s College, Mohandas Shetty, president of the school administration, secretary, Sitaram Shetty, Mohandas Shetty Padubhaga Kapiyadi and Mrs. Helen D’Souza.
Padmanabha Bhat, lecturer in St. Mary’s College, Shirva, Akshata and francis Lancy Barboza-MSW students of St. Mary’s College, Shirva attended the programme as resource persons. During the function, Kum. Reshma, honorary teacher in the Edmeru School was felicitated. N. Nityananda Shetty, headmaster of Edmeru School welcomed the guests; Vignesh cmpeered the programme and vote of thanks was given by Sachin Poojary, MSW student.
The one day Summer Camp in the Edmeru School was sponsored by Albert Fernandes of edmeru and Mrs. Sushmita P. Shetty of Naalku Beedhi and assisted by Leelavathi, Asha Nayak, Sharada Nayak, Reshma and Subhashini.
