Moodubelle, 28 March 2011: Jane Sweedal Lobo studying in 10th standard in St. Lawrence Composite PU College, Moodubelle scored first rank in the institution in the Diocesan Examination in Catechism conducted by Mangala Jyothi, Diocesan Biblical, Catechetical and Liturgical Center, Shanti Kiran, Bajjodi, Mangalore, held on 8th January 2011. She stood first among 30 students who had appeared for the examination.
In a function held on 6 March 2011 at the Mangala Jyothi Center in Mangalore, the Bishop of Mangalore, Most Rev. Dr. Aloysious Paul D’Souza felicitated the rank holders and those who had stood first in their respective educational institutions. Jane Sweedal Lobo was also honoured in this function by the Bishop by offering her a trophy and a copy of the New Testament.
Jane Sweedal is the only daughter of Stephan Peter Lobo and Jacintha Flavia Lobo of Kattingeri. Born on 14 October 1995, Jane had her higher primary education in the Church Aided Higher Primary School, Moodubelle and continued her high education in St. Lawrence Composite PU College. Jane Sweedal earlier had stood first in the Catechism Examination while studying in 7th standard as well. She has been good in studies and also in extra and co-curricular activities including sports.
Fr. Joswey Fernandes, parish priest of Belle and Fr. Paul Sequeira, principal of St. Lawrence Composite PU College congratulated Jane Sweedal Lobo for being first in the Diocesan catechism Examination among the students of 10th standard of St. Lawrence Composite PU College.
