Mangaluru: Pilgrimage of NYC Cross ceremoniously handed over to South Deanery

Mangaluru, 16 Dec 2016: The pilgrimage of National Youth Convention (NYC) Cross which arrived to Episcopal City Deanery after covering other parts of Karnataka was welcomed at Rosario Cathedral on Sunday, December 11 at 3.30pm. 

 

The youth, faithful, clergies and nuns from different parishes under Episcopal City Deanery venerated NYC cross at Rosario Cathedral, here till Wednesday, December 14 afternoon. 

 

The handing over ceremony of NYC cross to South Deanery was held on Wednesday, December 14 at 4.30pm.

 

 

During the handing over ceremony, Episcopal City Deanery ICYM director Fr Anil Roshan Lobo, Episcopal City Deanery – ICYM president Leon Lloyd Saldanha along with other members handed over the Cross to South Deanery vicar Fr J B Saldanha, ICYM director Fr Elias D’Souza and South Deanery - ICYM president Roshan.

 

The Cross was later placed at the altar of St Sebastian Church, Permanur, here, for the faithful to venerate.

 

ICYM South Deanery president Roshan welcomed the Gathering. Fr Elias D’Souza, director of ICYM South Deanery conducted the prayer service.

 

Fr Praveen Joy D’Souza and Fr Donald Nilesh Crasta, assistant parish priest and Fr Ashwin D’Souza of  Rushi Vana, Bro Trinson D’Souza, Permannur and other deanery ICYM Committee members, ICYM - Permannur parish unit members and Bethany sisters were present during this occasion.
