Mangaluru: Fr G W Vas celebrates sacerdotal golden jubilee with Milagres parishioners

Mangaluru, 11 Dec 2016: ‘I am the instrument of Lord Jesus he has blessed me and he has extend his kind hand on me all these years,’ said Fr G W Vas in reciprocal message for honoring him by the parish community of Milagres Church, here on the occasion of his sacerdotal golden jubilee celebration on Sunday, December 11 after 7.00am Holy Mass.

 

Fr Vas concelebrated the Thanksgiving Mass along with Milagres parish priest Fr Valerian, assistant parish priest Fr Anil, Mangaluru diocesan PRO Fr William Menezes here on Sunday morning.

 

Fr Valerian in his homily appealed the faithful to prepare themselves to welcome Jesus Christ who will be arriving in a few days. It’s the time to reflect on our spiritual lives in order to prepare ourselves for Christmas.  Christian life is sharing peace and happiness among our fellowmen.

 

 

Aft the Mass, a simple felicitation function was organized by parish council, whereby Fr Vas was felicitated by Fr Valerian, Fr William and Milagres parish council vice president Ivan D’Souza.

 

In his thanksgiving message, Fr Vas said, ‘I have served more than 39 years in various schools and Mother Mary was my guardian in all these places. I thank Fr Valerian for organizing this event. Also I thank all resident priests,parish council and Ivan.’

 

Fr Anil compered the programme and delivered vote of thanks.
