Udupi, 07 Dec 2016: Jnanaganga PU College, Nellekatte, Moodubelle, near here celebrated the annual day on Wednesday, December 7.
Government PU College vice principal Vishwanath Bayary, LIC retired assistant general manager Krishna Shenoy, Jnanaganga PU College governing council chairman Umesh Nayak and secretary Harish Karkera were the guests of morning session.
The guests hoisted the college flag, handed over a new computer and gave away prizes to winners of different competitions.
Manipal University of Applied Sciences director Professor Dr Radhakrishna Aithal, industrialist Amrit Shenoy, Jnanaganga education institutions founder president Gopikrishna Rao and Umesh Nayak were the chief guests of afternoon session.
After the prayer, they were welcomed by Niditha, the student leader. The principal, U L Bhat, read out the annual report, after which all the guests addressed the gathering.
Dr Radhakrishna Aithal addressed students, in particular, highlighting the need of extra-curricular curricular and curricular achievements and that these are equally required to be successful in professional life.
Amrith Shenoy inspired the students to show interest in studies and urged them to develop their inherent talent.
The guests honoured district level and state level sports achievers. The philanthropist Nagaraj Kamath honoured national-level sports achievers.
Vignesh Rao, student leader, proposed the vote of thanks. The programme was compered by Deeksha and Akshaya Kamath.
It was followed by cultural events staged by the students, compered by Amrtha and Sharanya.
