Kattingeri, Moodubelle, 18 March 2011: The five days annual festival celebrations which began at Shree Brhamalingeshwara Temple Kattingeri, Moodubelle on Monday 14th March 2011, came to an end today, Friday 18th March morning with ‘Shuddha Samprokshane’, that is, the ritual cleansing of the temple following the celebrations. The festivities which are both religious and cultural, have been the main attraction of Shree Brahmalingeshwara Temple at Kattingeri for many years.
This year, the annual festival began on Monday 14th March in the morning with Navaka Pradhana Homa (The Main Nine Kalasha Homa), Kalabhisheka, hoisting of the Garuda Pata and Mahapuje. In the evening offerings were made to deities in the temple. The religious rituals were conducted on each of the days of the annual festival.
On Tuesday 15th March “Annasantharpane” was served to all the devotees and villagers who were present in the temple. Cultural programmes were organised in the premises of the temple. Bhajan Mandalis from different regions gave their devotional performances. Also, children presented variety entertainment programmes in the evening.
In this five days annual festival of the temple a large number of devotees and villagers, irrespective of their religion and caste have taken part. Mr. Devdas Hebbar – President of Udupi Taluk Panchayath is also the Managing Trustee of Shree Brahmalingeshwara temple, has expressed his gratitude to each and every one in the village for their cooperation and participation in the festivities of the temple.
