Moodubelle, 04 February 2010: A new concrete slab building for the Anganwadi, constructed at a cost of rupees two lakhs and twenty five thousands given as a grant by the Udupi Taluk Panchayat was inaugurated on Tuesday, 2nd February 2010 at 10.30 am at Paudbettu-Chitrabail. The grants for the construction of the new building were obtained from the Udupi Taluk Panchayat due to the efforts of Mr. Ramesh Kanchan, member of the Udupi Taluk Panchayat.
The inaugural function was presided over by Mr. Manjunath Kamath, President of the Kodibettu Grama Panchayat. Other guests of honour who attended the function included, Mr. Lakshminarayan Prabhu-Ex-president of the Kodibettu Grama Panchayat, Members of the Kodibettu Grama Panchayat- Mr. Henry Fernandes and Mr. Sadananda Prabhu, Mr. Haridas Bhat, Social Worker from Mumbai, Mr. Krishna Kulal , Mrs. Shanti Prabhu, Supervisor of the Anganwadi and Mrs. Bhaagya, teacher in the Anganwadi.
Mr. Ramesh Kanchan and Mr. Haridas Bhat jointly inaugurated the new building of the Anganwadi by lighting the lamp and cutting the ribbon. In his brief speech, Mr. Haridas Bhat because of whose efforts the new building for the Anganwadi was constructed, said that it is important to spread English education in the villages so that our children can avail the facilities and be proficient in that language so that that can get better opportunities in their future life.
