Nativity Fest Around the World

Dubai, 14 Sep 2016: Jebel Ali Assisi Konkani Community (JAKC) celebrated Monti Fest with zeal and devotion at St Francis Assisi parish, Jabel Ali, here on Thursday September 8 at 8.00pm. Hundreds of expats from both Coastal Karnataka and Konkan region attended the celebration with nostalgia.

 

Jabel Ali assistant parish priest and JAKC spiritual director Fr Wilson Andrade celebrated the festal Mass in Konkani.

 

The faithful offered vegetables and flowers in honor of Infant Mary.  The new paddy sheaves that were especially brought from India was blessed and distributed to the gathering.

 

 

A well trained Konkani choir led by Nisha Sequeira, with musicians Joston Pereira and Joyson D’Souza and singers enhanced the celebration.

 

After Mass children who had gathered with flowers came together at the church ground and offered flowers to Infant Mary followed by dinner, ‘Noven Jevan’ was served and each one participated as one big family.
