Minister Rai was speaking after inaugurated the World Population Day at Lions Seva Mandir, here on Friday September 9.
The corruption-free governance in every stage will contribute for national prosperity, added minister Rai.
ZP member M S Mohammed appealed the youth to focus on the progress of their families for nation building.
TP vice president Abbas Ali called on the heads of families to decide their size and capability to educate their children.
Dr Vishveshwar V K, resident medical officer of Baltila PHC was the resource person, gave insight into the hurdles caused by population explosion that drains national resources by explaining with statistics. ‘Healthy children are the future hope for the nation,’ added Dr Vishveshwar.
TP president Chandrahas Karkera said that the people should be sensitized over the perils of population explosion.
Bantwal TP social justice Committee president Dhanalaxmi C Bangera was present.
Bantwal taluk health officer Dr Deepa Prabhu welcomed the gathering. The health education officer Susheela delivered the preliminary address. The senior health assistant F N Davale proposed vote of thanks. Mangaluru municipal malaria inspector Jayaram Poojary compered the programme.
