Mangaluru: KORWA convenes AGM, new Committee elected

Mangaluru, 21 Jun 2016: Konkan Overseas Returnees Welfare Association (KORWA), a social service organization in Mangaluru held its annual general body meeting at Olives, Kadri, here recently.

 

The meeting commenced with the opening prayer led by Flora Hislop.  KORWA president Louis Lobo heartily welcomed the gathering and expressed his gratitude towards all the members for their support, love and encouragement. He also thanked the sponsors, well wishers, media friends and people who provide their continuous support to KORWA.

 

A PowerPoint presentation highlighting the achievements of KORWA during 2014 – 2016 was screened on the occasion.   The general secretary Jessie Pinto and treasurer Wilma Menezes presented annual report and accounts respectively.

 

 

The election for the new Committee was led by Archie Menezes. Louis Lobo was unanimously reelected president.

 

Elias Sanctis (vice president), Meera D Souza (general secretary), Wilma Menezes (joint secretary), Ronald Gomes (treasurer), John Fernandes (cultural secretary), Lawrence Lobo (PRO) and Jessie Pinto (co-ordinator – members affairs).

 

The audience applauded the newly-elected Committee and Louis Lobo, KORWA’s president for the upcoming term thanked and sought everyone’s support and co-operation for a successful tenure.

 

Meera D’Souza proposed the vote of thanks and expressed gratitude towards everyone who have supported KORWA.
