Udupi, 24 April 2016: The parents and their children of earlier generation who struggled with poverty had great characters. They had limited opportunities but strived hard to become achievers by working at home and studying. The alumni of that generation still maintained the same trust in relation of teachers, said Balasubramanyam, former principal of Hindu Junior College, Shirva, near here.
He was speaking during the alumni reunion of Hindu Junior College, Shirva, near here on Saturday April 23.
He called on the alumni to promote Indian cultural values among the new generation.
Vidyavardaka Sangha administrator Professor Y Bhaskar Shetty lauded the alumni for their faith in former teachers. Alumni Association president Sorkala Sacchidanand Hegde presided the programme.
Alumni Association Mumbai unit president Kishore Kumar Shetty, convener Khandesh Bhaskar Shetty were present at the dais.
Vandana rendered the prayers. Sooda Hemanat Shetty welcomed the gathering. The chartered accountant Uday Kumar Shetty delivered the introductory address. Kutyar Prasad Shetty compered the programme. Smita Ritesh Shetty proposed vote of thanks.
