Udupi/M’Belle: ICYM celebrates annual day with multiple events and Tulu play ’Indrali Ju

Udupi, 31 Jan 2016: The ICYM Unit of Moodubelle celebrated annual day on Sunday, 31 January 2016 with multiple events such as thanksgiving mass in the morning, get-together  soon after followed by  lunch and stage programme, entertainment, release of mega serial ‘Kaala’ and Tulu telefilms ‘Lachchi’ and tulu drama ‘Indrali Junction’.

 

The stage programme began at 5.45 pm with prayer by ICYM members. The stage programme was presided over by Rev. Fr. Clement Mascarenhas-Parish Priest. Other dignitaries on the dais included: Rev. Fr. Charles Menezes- International  Director of  Youth,  Br. Lawrence D’Cunha-Deacon, Sr. Vinisha-Superior of Loreto Convent, Alphonse K. Alva and Mrs. Latha D’Mello- Vice President  and Secretary of Parish Pastoral Council, Joseph Martis-Convener of Youth Commission, Moodubelle Unit, Vincent Fernandes and Mrs. Rovita Fernandes-Animators of ICYM, Nevil D’Souza and Miss Felina D’Souza-President and Secretary of ICYM.

 

Following the welcome address by Nevil D’Souza, Miss Felina D’Souza read the report of the various activities conducted by ICYM Unit of Moodubelle.

 

On this occasion Vincent Fernandes, Joseph Martis and Rovita Fernandes for their service to ICYM. Sandip Shetty Manibettu of ‘Bale Telipale’ fame and Merwin Aranha of Shirva, actor in Tulu plays and TV personality were also honoured. Lloyd Rebello read out the brief introduction of those who were felicitated.

 

 

Winners of various games and competitions organized by ICYM Moodubelle Unit were given prizes by Rev. Fr. Charles Menezes, Rev. Fr. Clement Mascarenhas and Br. Lawrence D’Cunha. Miss Joshal D’Mello read the names of the winners.

 

Mementos were distributed by Rev. Clement Mascarenhas to all the members of ICYM and Nevil D’Souza, President of ICYM  was felicitated.

 

Rev. Fr. Charles Menezes honoured Rev. Fr. Clement Mascarenhas.

 

Speaking at this occasion, Rev. Fr. Charles Menezes and later Rev. Fr. Clement Mascarenhas complimented the ICYM Unit of Moodubelle for their achievements.

 

Miss Sara D’Souza, Vice President of ICYM Moodubelle Unit proposed the vote of thanks. The stage programme was anchored by Miss Ancita D’Souza and Miss Jovita D’Souza.

 

The cultural programme presented by the parishioners included prayer dance, playing of keyboard by the students young students trained by Mrs. Vidya D’Sa from Shanarpura, duet song and a filmy dance presented by Mrs. Jyothi and group.

 

 

One of the significant event that followed by the release of the title song of the Mega Serial ‘Kaala’ and Tulu telefilm ‘Lachchi’. The function was presided over by Rev. Fr. Clement Mascarenhas. Other dignitaries on the dais included: Arjun Kapikad-‘Chandikori’ fame, actress Chria Shri Anchan, Krishna Prasad, Director of the serial Prakash Suvarna, producer Anil Alva, Honorary President of KK Friends, Henry Fernandes and others.

 

The title song of ‘Kaala’ serial was released by Rev. Fr. Clement Mascarenhas. Arjun Kapikad released the Tulu telefilm ‘Lachchi’.

 

Rev. Fr. Clement Mascarenhas, Arjun Kapikad, Chira Shri Anchan, Krishna Prasad, Soumya, Dr. Leena Nayak, writer of the story of ‘Kaala’ and Jayson D’Souza, cameraman   were honoured on this occasion. Albert Martis and Mrs. Anita Alva were also felicitated for their cooperation during the shooting  of the serial ‘Kaala’.

 

Arjun Kapikad and Rev. Fr. Clement Mascarenhas wished well to the entire team of the ‘Kaala’ serial and ‘Lachchi’ telefilm.

 

 

Miss Savitha Jogi, heroin of the ‘Kaala’ serial compeered the programme.

 

The eagerly  awaited  Tulu play ‘Indrali Junction’ directed by Sandeep Shetty Manibettu was staged at around 8.30 pm.  A large number of people witnessed the play.
