Udupi, 10 Dec 2015: Lions Club International (LCI) is committed to the upliftment of marginalized in the society. Helping poor and downtrodden indeed brings happiness and mental bliss, said LCI district governor Sridar Shenava.
Shenava was speaking on his office visit to Lions Club – Subashnagar, Kurkalu, near here on Tuesday December 8.
He also expressed happiness over Lions Club – Subashnagar for donated 3 to 4 houses complete with toilets and other facilities to the homeless in the rural village of Kurkalu.
He felicitated Kurkalu gram panchayat former president Pajai Govind Bhat and social activist Raghu Shetty on the same occasion.
Lions first lady Jyoti Sridar Shenava, LCI – district treasurer V T Hegde, regional chairperson Satish Shetty, zonal president Dominon Noronha, Lions Club – Subashnagar president Rama Poojary, secretary Steven Castelino were present.
Geeta D Shetty hoisted the LCI flag. Kurkalu Dinakar Shetty introduced the dignitaries. Steven Castelino presented the report. V G Shetty and Tallur Shivaram Shetty were present.
