Udupi, 02 Dec 2015: The religious belief is the essence of Hinduism. The religion does not exist without belief. The VHP and Bajrang Dal are striving to take Hinduism to greater heights by uniting all regardless of castes, said Swami Rajashekaranand of Vajradehi mutt, Gurpur, Mangaluru.
Swami Rajashekaranand was speaking after inaugurating religious discourse that was held during annual Satyanarayana puja that was organized by VHP – Bantakal on public celebration of Ganeshotsav stage, Bantakal, near here on Sunday November 29.
He further said that the secularism is limited to mere abusing Hindu brethren, while the law is ineffective at the prevailing times. The general awareness is essential against distorting Hindu culture and oppression. The intellectual litterateurs issuing derogatory statement on Hindu culture is condemnable, said Swami Rajashekaranand.
VHP Udupi district president Suprasad Shetty was the chief guest of the occasion. Kurkalu Dinakar Shetty presided the programme.
Samskara Bharati Kala Vidya Pramukh Tuluva Bolli Dayanand Kattalsar delivered the keynote address. The veteran saxophonist Raju Seregar Heroor was felicitated during the programme.
The public Ganeshotsav celebration Committee president Madhav kamat, VHP – Bantakal honorary president B Ramachandra Prabhu, Bellary entrepreneur Suresh Shetty Gurme were present at the dais.
The condolences were offered for the recently demised VHP international leader Ashok Singhal, Bajrang Dal activist Moodbidri Prashant Poojary, veteran freedom fighter K Laxminarayana Sharma Bantakal and Bajrang Dal activist Umesh who passed away in road mishap.
Preeti Acharya sang the National Anthem. VHP – Bantakal president Meghanat Acharya welcomed the gathering. The secretary Ravindra Patkar proposed vote of thanks. RJ Chetan Shetty Mangaluru compered the programme.
