Dr Veena Shanteshwara inaugurates 12th edition of Alva’s Nudisiri

Moodbidri, 27 Nov 2015: The 12th Alva’s Nudisiri, organized by Alva’s Education Foundation was inaugurated on Thursday by litterateur Dr Veena Shanteshwara amidst a grand colourful ceremony.

 

Speaking at the event, Dr Veena Shanteshwar said that it was a unique experience for her to inaugurate the mega event.

 

 

Dr Veena further added that intolerance was growing and in such a condition, people should understand the meaning of harmony and for that music, literature and art was required.

 

Veteran scholar Dr TV Venkatachala Shastri, presiding over the ceremony said that the bond between the society and literary figures that existed once upon a time was diminishing at present. The attack on literary figures is condemnable and has to be meted out with punishment. The society should protect the interests of litterateurs and vice versa, the scholar said.

 

Dr Mohan Alva felicitated Dr Veena Santheshwara and Dr Venkatachala Shastry on the occasion. Several guests were present on the stage and about 35,000 people attended the event.
