Bahrain, 16 Nov 2015: The annual sports day for the family members of Bellevision Bahrain was held at the grounds of Baba City, Riffa, here on Friday November 13 from 10.00am to 3.00pm. Children’s Day was also celebrated pm the same occasion.
The pleasant weather with mild blowing wind was an awesome opportunity to be out on the open grounds with a sporty mood. Joel D’Sa welcomed all Bellevison Bahrain members and children and the opening ceremony was started with the prayer led by Pramila.
The president Ivan D’Souza in his presidential address thanked all members for coming in large numbers to support the committee in their initiative. Participants were divided into four teams - Red, Blue, White and Black. With all the teams lined up Joel D’Sa conducted the oath taking on the ground, after giving a few safety rules and guidelines the sports secretary and the main event co-ordinator Judith Mendonca along with Joel D’Sa conducted various fun filled and enthusiastic games.
Most of the games were played team-wise. For children in the age group of 3 years – 10 years individual games were conducted such as run and catch your parents, banana relay, ring the wicket, ball throw. The team games were dog and the bone, lemon and spoon, dodge ball, darts and Cycle wheel (bandi) relay, which was the best and most loved game of the day. This game reminded everyone of their childhood days. Laughing therapy session was conducted for few minutes after all the games were played.
Preetham and Marita Aranha took the charge of the registration desk. They also sponsored lovely gifts that were given to all children as a token of love to mark the celebration of Children’s day.
The breakfast and lunch was arranged at the ground. Naveen Mendonca had baked 2 delicious cakes for the November month Birthday and Anniversary celebrants and also for Children’s Day celebration.
Team White scored the highest points, followed by team Red. Individual winners in children category age group 3 years - 10 years were presented with medals and team White was presented with rolling shield. Joel D’Sa thanked all those who supported and put efforts to make this event a successful one, especially to the sports secretary Judith Mendonca for her vision and hard work to make this sports day a memorable one.
