Mangaluru, 04 Nov 2015: Raged by the disparaging statements made by Minister for Youth Affairs and MLA of Moodabidri Abhaya Chandra Jain against slain Bajrang Dal activist Prashanth Poojary, the District BJP has thrown an open challenge to Jain to either prove his claims before Sunday, November 8 or face music.
After continued attacks on Jain for having not visited the bereaved family of Prashanth, Jain recently said in Chikkamagalur that since over 20 cases were pending against Prashanth, he did not opt to meet the deceased’s family.
Jain has also raised suspicion over Prashanth’s source of income, pointing at the house built by Prashsanth at a cost of Rs 50 lakh, considering the fact that he was only running a petty flower business.
Taking exception to these statements, BJP district Vice-President Jagadish Adhikari on Tuesday challenged the Minister to put out in open the number of cases pending against Prashanth or tender an open apology for making derogatory remark against an innocent youth.
The party has decided to boycott the CM and the Ministers of his cabinet if either of the said two tasks were not done by Jain. The party has further resolved that the workers of BJP will show black flags to all the Congress leaders and specifically boycott all programmes of Minister Abhaya Chandra Jain.
Clarifying that Prashanth had built a house costing Rs 15 lakh, by pooling his savings and by raising a loan of Rs 8.50 lakh from a bank, Adhikari said that Prashanth was falsely implicated in Shanthi Prasad Hegde shootout case, which too was subjudice. Adhikari asked the minister to list out the remaining 19 criminal cases against Prashanth and put it out in open.
