Mumbai: Canara Welfare Association of Sacred Heart Parish, Andheri (E) celebrates Monti Fest

Mumbai, 14 Sep 2015: Canara Welfare Association of Sacred Heart parish, Mahakali Caves, Andheri (East) here celebrated Monti Fest, on Sunday September 13.

 

The Association spiritual director Fr Henry D’Souza led the praise and worship in honor of Infant Mary in front the grotto, wherein the little children showered the flowers.

 

He also blessed the new paddy sheaves and distributed the same to the congregation.

 

Sacred Heart parish priest Fr Lawrence Correa celebrated the festal Eucharistic Celebration along with Fr Cyril D’Souza, Fr S Chinnappa, Fr Niran Veigas and Fr Innocent Fernandes.

 

Fr Lawrence inaugurated the Monti Fest celebrations at Sacred Heart parish auditorium, here along with the office bearers of Canara Welfare Association.

 

 

Fr Jossy Fernandes, Fr Cyril D’Souza, Fr S Chinnappa, Fr Niran Veigas, Fr Innocent Fernandes, Sr Ranjana, Sr Fatima, Association president Tony Francis D’Almeida, vice president Glen Rebello, treasurer Pius Fernandes and convener Julie D’Almeida were present at the dais.

 

The children of Gyan Ashram presented variety dance shows as part of entertainment programme.

 

Fr Cyril held prayers before the meals that was the vegetarian food prepared in Mangalorean traditions and shared among the gathering.

 

Tony welcomed the gathering.  Clement Lobo Nakre compered the programme.  The secretary Lenny Fernandes proposed vote of thanks.
