Karkala: Bus runs into stream injuring 25 students

Karkala, 21 Jul 2015: A private bus carrying over 40 students to BBM Government College ran off road and plunged into a stream, injuring 25 students, on Tuesday, July 21, at Kabettu near Gundyadka.

 

As per sources, the mishap occurred when the driver steered the vehicle off road to give way for other vehicles to pass and lost control over the vehicle as the road was too narrow. The vehicle then plunged into a stream.

 

 

The injured students were rushed to government hospital. As per sources 19 students have suffered severe injuries, while others have been treated for minor bruises.

 

The fire service personnel rushed to the spot and three cranes were brought to the spot to pull out the bus.
