Udupi District Police Sports Meet Held

Manipal, 10 January 2010: Udupi District Police Sports Meet held on Sunday 09th January 2010 at MIT grounds Manipal. The event was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Hemalatha P. by releasing the balloons and doves. In her speech Hemalatha said, “Fitness level of the police personnel reflects in the detention of crime and also curbing the naxalite activities”.

 

Hemalatha also said “by involving in sports and games a policeman develops sportsmanship and competitiveness”. She lauded the Udupi District Police for being number two in the state level evaluation of district police and hoped that this year they would do better to be the top one.

 

 

Superintendent of Police Praveen Madhukar Pawar welcomed the gathering. Additional SP Venkatehsaappa proposed the vote of thanks. Assistant Superintendent of Police, Kundapura Division, Ramnivas Sepat was present.

 

District Armed Reserve Police team won the first prize in the march past competition, in which five police teams participated. IGP Alok Mohan will give away the prizes to the winners at the valedictory programme to be held on Monday evening.
