Udupi, 29 Jun 2015: Congress is likely to take the reigns of Moodubelle gram panchayat, as strong contestant BJP’s member officially joins Congress, said the state minister Vinay Kumar Sorake.
Addressing the media persons at Rajeev Bhavan, Kaup, here on Sunday June 28, the minister Sorake said that Moodubelle gram panchayat has a total strength of 18 members, out of which Congress backed 9 candidates and BJP backed 9 candidates won the recently held elections. Congress is likely to reign the administration as BJP strength has reduced to 8 and Congress now has strength of 10, said minister Sorake.
BJP has lost the majority as district BJP women morcha joint secretary Ranjani Hegde who had won for the second time as gram panchayat member joined Congress that has now got the strength of 10 members, added minister Sorake.
Kaup block Congress president Navinchandra J Shetty Padubidri, K Divakar Shetty, Shivaji Suvarna Belle, ZP member Ida Gilbert D’Souza, Deepak Kumar Yermal, Y Sukumar Padubidri, Navin Shetty, Abdul Aziz Hejamady, Vishwas V Amin, Moodubelle gram panchayat Congress backed members were present.
