Mangaluru, 23 Jun 2015: St Aloysius institutions celebrated the feast of St Aloysius Gonzaga, the patron Saint of the College at Loyola Hall here on Saturday June 2, centralizing the theme: Called to Glory.
Bishop Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza of Mangaluru diocese was the main celebrant of the Eucharistic Celebration.
More than 20 priests and 2,500 Catholic students of St Aloysius Institutions devoted themselves to the Mass.
The Bishop gave a meaningful Homily and gave a call to the students to serve the society; especially the sick and the needy. The co-celebrants were Fr Denzil Lobo SJ, Rector of St Aloysius Institutions, Fr Melwin Mendonca SJ, Principal of St Aloysius PU College and other Jesuit priests.
Large number of students participated in the offertory ceremony. The Choir by the PU students created spiritual ambience by their melodious Hymns.
The birthday of Bishop Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza was celebrated during the occasion. The Bishop expressed his deepest desire to be like Jesus to serve humanity with utmost love.
Fr Melvyn Mendonca SJ, Principal of the PU College, delivered the vote of thanks.
