Udupi, 28 December 2010: In order to attend to the emergency in the cities in Udupi District, 9 Hoysala emergency service vehicles have been released on Monday. These emergency vehicles have been formally inaugurated by P. Hemalatha – Deputy Commissioner of Udupi District at the District Police Commissioner’s Office premises.
On this occasion District Police Commissioner Pravin Madhukar Pawar, Police Commissioner M. V. Venkateshappa, Asst. Police Commissioner Jayanth Shetty, M.M. Yadhavada, Sheenappa Nayak and others were present.
These emergency vehicles have been designated for Udupi City, Manipal - Hiriyadka, Brahmavara – Kota, Gangolli, Bindoor – Kollur and Karkala Police Station areas. In addition to the previous four vehicles, additional 5 Cheverlot Tavera vehicles have been prepared for these services.
In each vehicle there will be one A.S.I. and three Head Constables / Constables are assigned. This team will receive instructions from the control room or the information and will reach to the crime spot and in coordination with the control room will be able to take the situation under control.
These vehicles will also have GPS system and also the necessary weapons, first aid kit, protection equipment and other necessary things. At the accident spots or at crime spots can be attended by these vehicles. Also, chasing and arresting of criminals these vehicles will be very useful for the police force, said S.P.
