Kuntalnagar, 28 December 2010: St. Antony’s church celebrated the Christmas by presenting Tableau titled “Christmas Shanti Sandesha” at two places in the parish region. The Tableau was presented at Dendoorkatte and Kuntalnagar locality on 25th December 2010 on Christmas day.
The tableau started with the procession of vehicles from the church at 4.45 pm leading towards Dendoorkatte village with the vehicles with the Crib followed by the choir group and others. The procession came to first halt at Dendoorkatte at 5.15 pm.
The celebration started with the introduction and the significance of Christmas, later it was followed by a dance called “Navu Ondaguva” by small children and continued with a short skit named “Paralokadalli Untada Dukha”. Skit was presented by the members of ICYM, YCS and altar boys who reflected the reason for the birth of Jesus Christ and the story of Bethlehem on the birth of Jesus Christ. Then, the parish priest of the church, Fr. Jerome Monteiro delivered Christmas Message. He called for peace and unity among all religion and the Christmas wishes to all the gathering.
Later following the valuable message of the parish priest, once again a dance was performed by the children, called ’Dharegobba Janisida’. Refreshments such as cake and lime juice were served to the people gathered, which was sponsored by the respective wards of the region.
Finally, Santa Claus made his appearance and wished all the people a Merry Christmas and danced along with the children.
The program lasted for 40 minutes. The choir group of the church sang Christmas carols all the way during the procession.
The same programme was repeated at Kuntalnagar from 6.20 pm. The villagers from both Dendoorkatte and Kuntalnagar gave a warm welcome to the Christmas Tableau. The programme was appreciated by the people in the locality.
The entire program was conducted in Kannada and Tulu. The programme was hosted by Mr.Steevan Mendonca and the people of all religions also witnessed the programme and shared their wishes of Christmas.
