Mumbai, 27 December 2010: The Shri Ayyappa Bhakta Mandali of Sakinaka, a suburb of Mumbai performed the Ayyappaswami Mahapooje on Saturday, 25th December 2010 in the premises of Lakshminarayana temple in the Muhili village. Dinesh Devadiga, son of the famous Yakshagana chnadevadaka-K.K. Devadiga had organised this programme. The religious rituals were performed by Shri Shri Ganesh Guruswami. The excellently decorated deity by Shri Anchan Guruswami was the chief attraction of the programme.
Following the Ganahoma early in the morning, the famous Bhajana Mandali of Sakinaka-Shri Nityananda Bhajana Mandali presented devotional songs. After the Mahapooje there was distribution of prasada and annasantarpane.
Dinesh Devadiga, who is the local S.E.O. has been the president of a number of religious and cultural organisations such as Saki-Muhili Sarvajanik Ganeshstsava Mandali, Navaratrotsava Mandali, Sai Seva Sangha and Datta Sairam Padayatra Mandali. He is also the honorary secretary of the recently established Tulu-Kannadigara Hitachintakara Vedike.
