Udupi, 15 May 2015: Our Lady of Fatima parish, Pernal, near here commemorated the celebration of sixtieth anniversary of Parish Day on Sunday May 10. The clergies from across Udupi diocese partaken in the celebration that has been held every year since 60 years.
Pernal parish priest welcomed the congregation of parishioners and clergies and also distributed the blessed candles to the sponsors of the celebration.
Shirva deanery vicar Fr Stany Tauru concelebrated the Eucharistic Celebration along with several clergies on the occasion. Fr Tauro in his homily laid emphasis on sustaining Christian faith at all times in life.
The parish is blessed with 7 priests who are serving in different parts of the country. Fr John Lobo who is serving in northern India released the sixtieth anniversary souvenir ‘Fatimacho Talo’. Fr Preetham, Fr Rajesh, Fr Lawrence, Fr John, Fr Evan and Fr Ronald are other priests.
The parish choir presented melodious singing, while the parish council and other organizations strived for the success of Parish Day.
Fr Arthur Pereira thanked the parishioners who were present in large numbers for the success of celebrations.
