Bangalore, 15 December 2010: Prison Ministry India, the national voluntary organization working for the release, renewal and rehabilitation of prisoners as well as women in distress, celebrated the Christmas and the New Year with the inmates of Central Prison, Bangalore on 15th december. Mrs.Aida D’cunha, State co-ordinator, PMI, welcomed the gathering. Sr.Adel Korah, Co-ordinator, Bangalore unit, spoke a few words about Rev.Fr.Jose Kutty, National co-ordinator, PMI, who was later honoured by the Bishop for the nation wide selfless service he renders towards the brethren behind bars. Most Rev.Bernard Moras, the archbishop of Bangalore delivered the christmas message of peace and repentance. Mrs.Kavita Baburaj, Corporator-Singasandra ward, was the guest of honor on this function.
Prison authorities were present for the programme. Prizes were distributed to the winners of different competitions conducted among the inmates by PMI volunteers. A colourful entertainment programme was conducted with the co-operation of different catholic institutions of Bangalore and the inmates gave a marvellous performance.
