Udupi, 12 December 2010: As part of the 3 day celebrations on the occasion of his 80th birthday, Pejawar Mutt pontiff Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji visited schools and the patients in the hospital. On Saturday morning Swamiji visited Poornaprajna P. U. College. He then visited the Gandhi Hospital and distributed fruits. Later he visited Muchalakodu Balanikethana and distributed fruits.
Ashtotthara Mahayajna comprising 108 homas were performed for World Peace, in Car Street of Sri Krishna Temple, on Friday morning. Suyathindra Theertha Swamiji of Sri Raghavendra Mutt Manthralaya, formally inaugurated the programme, organized to mark the 80th birth anniversary of Pejawar Mutt pontiff Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji.
The programme was given a start on 09th December with the Koti Tulasi Archane to lord Srikrishna on Thursday. Paryaya Shiroor Mutt pontiff Sri Laxmivara Theertha SwamijiPutthige Mutt pontiff Sri Sugunendra Theertha Swamiji, Bannanje Sri Raghavendra Theertha Swamiji, former VHP Chief Ashok Singhal, Udupi MLA Raghupathi Bhat and others participated in the programme.
Chairman of BJP Parliamentary Party LK Advani also visited Pejawar Mutt pontiff Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamij during his visit to Udupi. Minister for Higher Education Dr VS Acharya, MPs DV Sadananda Gowda, Nalin Kumar, Lalaji R Mendon, Laxminarayana, Yogish Bhat, MLC Kota Srinivas Poojary were also present.
Earlier, Advani also visited Paajaka Kshethra the birth place of Sri Madhwachaya and also spent some time in the University Town of Manipal, where he was received by Chancellor Manipal University Dr Ramdas M Pai, pro chancellor Dr HS Ballal and columnist MV Kamath during his brief stopover in Manipal.
