Mangaluru, 18 Jan 2015: “All that matters is honesty, Integrity and courage to face your conviction” said Rev. Fr. Joachim Fernandes, Parish Priest, Kelarai, quoting eminent singer Usha Uttup, in his address at 7th Lancy Noronha Nite at St. Agnes Special School grounds , Bendur, Mangalore. The Nite was organized by Alfred Bennis Creations in aid to the social welfare activities of Hope Charitable Trust®.
Applauding the efforts of Lancy Noronha, Fr. Fernandes said honesty , Integrity and courage to face conviction is the only way to success. Responding to one of the guests, Eric Ozario’s argument Fr. Fernandes said “ I too wish that 1000 flowers should bloom in Konkani music. Why alone music, 1000 flowers should also bloom in Konkani literature, theatre and all other areas. But it my personal experience is that only good music can give solace and comfort to your soul. Good music has the power to heal too”
Fr. Fernandes congratulated Alfred Bennis Creations and Hope Charitable Trust on this occasion.
The stage was loaded with eminent 6 guests apart from the president of the function and office bearers of Alfred Bennis Creations and Hope Charitable Trust. And the stage programme lasted for 40 minutes.
Mandd Sobhan Gurkar Eric Ozario, Konkani Organizer and businessman Louise J Pinto, NRI Entrepreneur Elias Sanctis, NRI Entrepreneur , philanthropist and singer Joseph Mathais, Theater personality Alwyn Pinto and Clifford Fernandes were the chief and guests of honor on stage.
Using the occasion without naming the legendary Konkani singer, composer Mr. Eric Ozario argued “ Now a day a debate is going on in Konkani music about the quality of music produced which is not healthy one. Repeated efforts are being made by a certain section to raise the said great singer, composer to altar. There is no need to raise him to the altar. If they want to raise him to the altar we will also join them. But to prove his music great, there is no need to downgrade the music produced by other artists. Let 1000 flowers bloom in Konkani music and let all grow”.
NRI Entrepreneur Elias Sanctis narrated the story of great singer Mohd. Rafi and urged the new talents to make the best use of opportunities coming on their way.
Clifford Rodrigues introduced Lancy Noronha and his family and said on record Lancy and his Wife donate 10% of their earning to charity every year.
Gracy Monterio, Trustee of Hope Charitable Trust introduced the guests to the audience and Fiona Bennis, daughter of Alfred Bennis proposed vote of thanks. Gifted voice of Vamanjoor and a well know MC from U.A.E. Mr. Roshan D’ Silva compeered the Nite with an awesome opening song.
Lancy Noronha, Preema D Souza, Joseph Mathais, Ravindra Prabhu, Anita D Souza, Joshal Sweedal D’Souza, Dr. Prashant Raj, Sapna Saldhana, Chrisilda Rodrigues, Melrick Monteiro, Godlin D’Souza and Claude D’Souza presented melodious songs which were enjoyed thoroughly by the audience.
Rib tickling Skits were performed by Memory troupe. Music was provided by Vijay Noronha of Sweet Symphony of Music. The 7th Lancy Nyte proved to be a grand success and was well attended and enjoyed by a large number of audiences.
