Mangaluru, 21 Dec 2014: The National level Aloysian Fest- 2014-15 concluded after 3 days of festivities here on Saturday December 20.
The valedictory program was presided by the campus minister Fr Francis D’Almeida, in the presence of the principal Fr Swebert D’Silva.
The chief guest of the function was Karnataka Bank general manager Dr Meera Aranha.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Meera congratulated the management and entire team involved in organizing the fest. She said, ‘Power of thinking can most certainly help you to achieve anything in life,’ said Dr Meera.
Dr Meera further said, ‘Power of thinking is power of thought.’
Speaking on the occasion, Fr Francis D’Almeida said, ‘Come what may, stand straight and face the challenge till the very end.’ Stressing on the importance of how students should achieve their goals, he gave examples of many famous personalities like Mahatma Gandhi, Mother Theresa, Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther King and John F Kennedy.
The vice principals of all the streams, the staff and student coordinators of the individual fests, Aloysian fest convener Professor John Sherra and student council director John Edward D’Silva, the Student Council president Lizane Tanya D’Souza, the secretary Deepak Balliga, Speaker Nakul Raj, were present on the dais.
The Aloysian Fest – 2014-15 encompasses fests of diverse streams such as:
ARTBEAT: The Arts fest had the theme ‘Ithihotsav, Reliving the Golden Age’. The venue of the fest was decorated to give us a view of the nostalgic beauty of Indian history. The backdrop, the exhibition, the photo booth, was among the main attractions. To add to the theme of the fest, the students also dressed up royally. A total of 12 colleges participated in the fest to make it a grand success.
