Abu Dhabi, 18 Nov 2014: The much awaited magical classical music and dance by famous artists of Soorya Festival enthralled the art and music lovers at the Sh. Zayed Auditorium of Abu Dhabi Indian School on Monday evening of 17 Nov 2014, The famous tro Tabla and a Sarangi maestro led by Ustad Rashid Mustaffa provided a magical music while two wonder Nair sisters mesmerized the audience with their scintillating Bharatanatyam dances. The one and half an hour show was a pure magical and enticing and a treat to watch and enjoy the memorable classical concert.
The magical Soorya Festival is held under the patronage of Padmashree Dr. B.R. Shetty (MD NMC Group) who is the Chief Patron and organized by U.A.E. exchange Centre Abu Dhabi under the leadership of Mr. Y. Sudhir Kumar Shetty, COO Global (U.A.E. Exchange). The show was attended by HE Mr. TP Sitaram, Ambassador of Bangladesh and Sri-Lanka. Dr. B.R. Shetty welcomed them with the floral bouquets.
The show began at 8.30pm sharp with a grand welcome accorded by Ms. Joyce Shetty and introduced the artists. The first one hour was jugal-bandi of Tabla and Sirangi performance by Ustad Rashid Mustafa, his son Sarik Mustafa accompanied by Arshad Khan and Ali Ahfan. They provided soothing music by their magical instruments and it was indeed a treat to watch. Sarik Mustafah even sang two wonderful classical songs and enthralled the audience by his melodious voice singing beautiful classical numbers.
The second part was a Bharatanatyam session by two well-known Nair sisters namely Veena Nair and Dhanya Nair with their scintillating moves and breathless nonstop dances made the evening the most enjoyable and memorable. The music, the lighting system all worked wonders and the audience had a great time enjoying every moment of the performances.
All the artists, including the conceiver of Soorya Festival Mr. Soorya Krishnamoorthy, were invited to the dais at the end of the program and were felicitated by Mr. Binu Shetty and Ms.(Dr.) C. Shetty in the presence of Mr. Sudhir Kumar Shetty. A lucky draw was held for U.A.E. Exchange Centre gifts and Mr. Binay Shetty handed over the gifts to the lucky winners.
The magical show ended at about 10:00pm.
