Kundapur: Twin Konkani books “Moum, Mog ani...” and “Ghov Rodlo” released

Kundapur, 16 November 2010: Twin Konkani books full of satire and fun under the title of “Moum, Mog ani...” and “Ghov Rodlo”, written by eminent poet, story and play writer, Mr. Bernard D’Costa were released  recently on the occasion of the Silver Wedding Jubilee of Mr. Bernard and Mrs. Vinaya D’Costa in the Akshatha hall of Hari Prasad Hotel in Kundapur. Fr. Elias D’Souza, Principal of  St. Mary’s Junior College released the twin books.

 

In the beginning, Miss Bleswina D’Costa welcomed the guests. In his introductory speech, Mr. Bernard said that he was inspired to write these twin books with the intention of making the people to laugh as laughter is very important in modern times.

 

After releasing the books, in his message, Fr. Elias D’Souza said that he had an opportunity to meet Mr. Bernard D’Costa much earlier when he was the Director of the Youth Federation. He further said that when the youth of the Bendur parish staged a play written by Mr. Bernard D’Costa he had the honour of felicitating him. Lauding the great work of writing these books, Fr. Elias D’Souza wished Mr. Bernard well and hoped that many more such books will be written by him.

 

 

Mr. Ramananda Kamath, a satire writer in Kannada and the President of “Ha-Ha-Ha...” laughter club kept the audience in humour and laughter by his witty remarks. He said that Mr. Bernard has the gift of God to make people laugh through his writing. He expressed hope  that these twin books will become very popular among the Konkani reading people.

 

Fr. Dominic Viegas, Mrs. Vinaya D’Costa-Publisher of the Prajwal Prakashan and Mrs. jacintha Joseph Martis, representative of Bellevision.com were on the dais. Miss Jeswina D’Costa proposed the vote of thanks and expressed special thanks to Bellevision.com for sponsoring one of the twin books-“Moum, mog ani...” She also expressed gratitude to Mr. Adolph Rodrigues for sponsoring the other book, “Ghov Rodlo”.
