Udupi: Sports improves total wellbeing - Fr Joswey Fernandes

Udupi, Oct 31, 2014: The annual sports meet of St Lawrence Group of education institutions, Moodubelle, near here is being held at St Lawrence PU College grounds from Thursday October 30 to Friday October 31.

 

St Lawrence Group of education institutions correspondent Fr Joswey Fernandes presided the programme and accepted the guard of honor during the march fast.

 

Karnataka Bank manager Chandrashekar Alva hoisted the sports flag.

 

 

Moodubelle parish council vice president A K Alva lighted the sports torch.

 

Belle gram panchayat president Rajendra Shetty inaugurated the sports meet here on Thursday morning.

 

Melinda administered the oath to sports participants. 

 

Speaking on the occasion, Fr Joswey said that sports improves total wellbeing just like copper that becomes wire when heated at certain degree of temperature, a boulder takes a shape of sculpture by the hands of sculptor, said Fr Joswey.

 

The retired headmaster J B Miranda, Moodubelle parish council secretary Emilia Noronha, retired teacher P D Kamat, PTA president Shanti Alva, Moodubelle entrepreneur Mukund Kamat, headmasters Fr P Raj, Fr Paul Sequeira and Fr Sylvester Mathias were present.

 

Sarojini Kamat welcomed the gathering. Sylvester Mathias proposed vote of thanks. Chandrakala B E compered the programme.
