Leopard entangled in net gets new lease of life

 

Siddhapura, 29 Oct 2014: A leopard that had come to Irabail in Siddhapura in search of food, landed in a net that was laid around a farmland to ward off birds and animals, on Wednesday.

 

The farmers in the regions have been laying nets to protect their farmland from wild animals and birds. On Wednesday, the paws of the Leopard was entangled in the net.

 

 

The leopard, which must have got trapped in the net on Tuesday night or early on Wednesday morning was spotted by the locals on Wednesdayafternoon. The forest officials were instantly alerted and after some efforts, at about 4.30 pm the leopard was rescued. The officials have confirmed that the leopard is healthy and has not suffered any injuries.

 

The female leopard aged about 6 years must have come from Sooral forest area. About seven months ago a leopard of about the same age had died after falling into a trap.
