Kundapur, Oct 06, 2014: ‘You should be shining stars of your families; you should achieve something worthwhile in life by following in the footprints of Jesus Christ and become torchbearers for future generation,’ said Udupi diocesan chancellor and Barkoor parish priest Fr Valerian Mendonca.
Fr Mendonca was speaking after inaugurating Jeevan Jyoti camp that was begun at St Joseph’s School hall, here for Catholic students of Class X in Kundapur deanery with the slogan, Walking along with Jesus in life, here on Sunday October 5.
Kundapur – Our Lady of Rosary assistant parish priest Fr Prakash Paul D’Souza said, ‘You would not be enthusiastic on beginning the camp, but when the four-day camp concludes, you will return home happy,’ said Fr Prakash.
Kundapur parish council vice president Johnson D’Almeida was the chief guest said, ‘You are the light to this world, like salt for a tasty dish.’
St Joseph’s convent superior Sr Vibha, Kundapur deanery sodality secretary Leena Tauro, Kundapur parish council secretary Felciana D’Souza and camp participants Prasad D’Souza and Joyline Baretto were present on the dais.
The clergies and runs were the resource persons of the camp.
The parish children presented welcome dance and rendered prayers. Kundapur deanery ICYM secretary Joyston D’Souza proposed vote of thanks. Koteshwar parish priest Fr Rayan Pais compered the programme.
